

Hi, I'm Scott.  

I'm a multidisciplinary product design leader from Seattle and now living and working in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I have been leading teams for over a decade after spending the first half of my career as a highly productive IC design engineer. 

As a manager I am open and honest and able to coach the best out of UI and UX designers. I believe in the power of a design critique and how impactful the experience can be for team members. 

I'm passionate about the craft of design and the role of design in a functioning organization (and culture).

I've done some great things with my friends at work. Here's a few that stand out.

1. Establishing and scaling design operations at [Superformula](https://www.superformula.com/work), where I led a team of over 20 talented and unique designers, researchers and engineers. I worked every day to build a sustainable culture built on craft, empathy and honest feedback.

2. Co-founding [Bad Assembly](https://www.badassembly.com/work) and growing it into a profitable business while never letting go of our creative vision. Aside from growing the business, I led multiple projects as a creative and technical director.

3. Pivoting on a dime when COVID hit to help MGM Resorts to make the resort check-in process completely contactless. Our investment in emerging tech and design systems allowed us to quickly pivot our teams to create new experiences that enabled the hotels to safely reopen.
